Expert Advice
Charlotte is an expert advisor on a range of issues and a member of global, regional, and national technical working groups, task forces, and conference programme committees on maternal newborn health, community health, family planning, integration of HIV, and reproductive health services, and health systems research.
- Member of Technical Advisory Group for several projects and initiatives to advise on strategic direction, opportunities and partnerships, and research dissemination.
- Member of global Respectful Maternity Care (RMC) Council ( from 2011). Inter-Agency Working Group on SRH-HIV Linkages (from 2010) and Inter-Agency Working Group on Reproductive Health in Crises (from 2018).
- Primary member of Population Council’s Institutional Review Board (from 2013) bimonthly meetings to review and approve research protocols.
- Member of WHO Guideline Development Groups on global recommendations for maternal and newborn health. Examples include Standards of Care for Small and Sick Newborn (2019), Guidance on Antenatal Care for Positive Experience in Women (2016), Maternal and Newborn Health Quality of Care Framework (2015), and Mistreatment of women during childbirth (2013).
